This topic was not easy for me. I have a hard time sharing  personal things about myself.  Makes me feel like I'm bragging or whining.  I really need to open up.

Wings

 

This week's prompt was 'Wings'.

 

Wings made me think of airplanes and fairies.  I used the wings from a butterfly for the fairy.

Self Portrait

 

 



This week's prompt was 'Self Portrait'.

 

I actually tried to do a self portrait by taping a transparency on a mirror and trying to sketch my face.  Didn't work very well, so I just had fun with it.  Added the glasses, hat, earrings, dress, blotchy face and red hair.

Between the Lines

 I used Adirondack Acrylics and Stabilo crayons for the background.  Then I stamped my lines and filled in with collage, stamps, stickers and a photo transfer.

Less Is More

PLAY


The topic this week is Less is More.  I decided to use decorative paper with a lace like design for the background.  The cat looked just right with the garden.  When looking for a poem I found the perfect one for the page.   I love the poem.

Set In Blocks

I used 'Tamp a Tiles' in square and rectangular shapes to make my blocks. Than I colored the blocks and added rub-ons, stickers and stamping.  I bought the tape at Target in the children's school and art supply section.   They were about $1 a roll.  Lots of bold, bright colors.

Found Trash

Collaborating Art Journals with Shelly

This is another shared page.

The weekly prompt was 'Found Trash'. I included Found things (that were not Trash)

such as a story written by my niece. The bird's feathers had fallen off costumes at a

Halloween dance, (I was picking these up off the floor planning to use them on my
journal page). The rest being trash that was collecting on my work table in my art

Fall Colors

Collaborating Art Journals

I first met Shelly at Journalfest 2011. We registered for a couple of classes and

shared a table on the second day. Both of us have similar interests in Art

Journaling. Recently Shelly invited me to do a year long collaboration of our

journal pages sharing a weekly prompt.

Roben-Marie Smith and Samantha Kira Harding did a Creative Collaboration

called "Points of Two" in 2010. There have been several magazine articles about
